The #Anglican_Church began its missionary activities in the 1840s when English clergymen were sent to make official contact with the Nestorian and #Chaldean leaders. The Archbishop of Canterbury created a mission to the "#Assyrians" in 1886. A.C. Tait, Archbishop of Canterbury, was the first major English language openion-builder to use the term "#Assyrian" for the Oriental Christians.
